Who are Laurus? The name Laurus comes from Latin meaning success. Our logo represents the laurel leaves worn by a champion in their field and this is what aim to be. We are web based so this cuts down on a lot of costs just like any other business which works to the same model. Our consultants have experience of various recruitment disciplines and offer our clients a wealth of experience. We practice old fashioned values and service but with a modern and efficient twist.

You are web based. That isn't very personal is it? Most agencies these days don't run from 'shop front' offices. The ones that do have tended to have been established for years. With the arrival of the internet age they are becoming increasing a costly and non-essential requirement for a recruitment business. Over the last couple of years more and more agencies are becoming web-based, utilising experienced recruitment consultants in exactly the same way. All our applicants we forward to your roles will have been pre-screened ensuring that they are the cream of the crop. We offer a low cost service but not at the cost of high service.

So how do you cut overheads? We are internet based. We don't go out constantly visiting different companies throughout the UK or Ireland trying to attract new business. We have flexible working at Laurus. Our consultants have the opportunity to work from home on a couple of days a week. With modern technology it is like having them in the office! Our back office administration is mainly dealt with by a team of people who prefer to work from home. Both of which means we can cut down the size of the office space. Also less commuting means less cars on the road. The benefit of having our consultants having the technology to access their systems from home is that they often like to speak to candidates outside of normal business hours. We are also able to provide clients with an emergency 'out of hours' service if you require a temp at very short notice. Also with our rates so low we hope that you will try using our services on a sole agency basis, which saves us time and money too. Basically we are fully embracing technology and creating a good work/life balance with our employees both of which in turn save our clients money and meet their high service levels.

Do you offer refunds if the candidate doesn't work out? Yes. We offer 'claw back' on our fees if they don't last the first 12 weeks. The most likely time an applicant leaves is in the first few weeks. Their CV will have been distributed and they may be called to interview even after they have started with you. Obviously most will turn it down but some maybe tempted with what they percieve as greener grass. We offer 90% refund on placements if they are no longer in your employ after 4 weeks, for whatever reason bar redundancy. After that it is a sliding scale as per our Terms and Conditions.

How do you find applicants? After we have fully qualified a new role we firstly approach our registered candidates. A lot of these people we will know exceedingly well. Then we search through the hundreds of thousands of candidates registered on our job board databases. In the meantime the advert response in coming through and we sift those, searching for suitable applicants. We select the best fully qualified and pre-interviewed candidates from all 3 sources and forward them to you with a full summary sheet attached so you know exactly when they are available, available for interview, a skills summary, details of salary/rate expectation as well as results of the pre-interview questions you may have set.

Where and how do you advertise? We advertise extensively on the most popular job boards in the UK and Ireland. We also select niche sites which are sector related. When someone is looking for a new job on line this means your advert gets full coverage. All our adverts are crafted to ensure search engine maximisation as well as importantly being compliant with employment legislation.

Why do you advertise online?  Simply it is the most popular and efficient medium of securing a new job with some sites detailing thousands upon thousands of vacancies. It is also much cheaper and less labour intensive than older forms of advertising like newspapers. Of course, as a client, if you wished us to back up a recruitment campaign with newspaper advertising we can do that so please phone for a quote.
